The Barsburg Empire’s Military Academy trains elite soldiers who secure victories for the empire. Students wield a power called "Zaiphon" in battle, though the type each can use depends on their individual nature. Teito Klein is one of the academy’s most talented students, yet he faces ridicule as a "sklave" (slave) with no memories of his past. His only friend is Mikage, a fellow student. While preparing for his final exam, Teito stumbles upon a dark secret tied to his origins. When he tries-and fails-to assassinate Ayanami, a high-ranking officer who murdered his father, Teito is imprisoned and sentenced to punishment. Determined to protect Teito, Mikage helps him escape. Teito finds refuge at the 7th District Church, where the bishops shelter him. Now, he must evade Ayanami and the Military while piecing together his lost memories-and uncovering the reason he alone holds the power to alter the world’s fate.
