Warlords of Sigrdrifa

Humanity teeters on the edge of extinction, hunted by monstrous aliens known as Pillars. Then a mysterious being named Odin appears, offering hope-he grants certain women the power of "Valkyries," warriors who pilot antique fighter planes called Hero Wings. Claudia "Schwertleite" Bruford is Europe's top Valkyrie. After Japan loses its elite S-class Valkyrie in combat, Claudia is reassigned to fill the void. But she carries a grim reputation: the only survivor of every mission she's flown, earning her the nickname "Grim Reaper." She has a hunch why she was really sent. Bracing for rejection, she reports to the Tateyama Valkyrie Wing. To her surprise, her new squadmates are a bunch of misfits who couldn’t care less about her cursed title-and they have no plans to let her shoulder the burden alone.
