Daikichi Kawachi is a 30-year-old single man with a steady job but little direction in life. After his grandfather’s sudden death, he returns to his family home to attend the funeral. There, he encounters a quiet, distant girl named Rin-who turns out to be his grandfather’s secret illegitimate daughter. The rest of the family sees Rin as a disgrace and wants nothing to do with her, leaving her with no one to care for her. Disgusted by their indifference, Daikichi steps in and decides to raise her himself, even though he has no experience with parenting or children. "Usagi Drop" follows Daikichi as he stumbles through the challenges of raising Rin, learning to care for her with patience and kindness.
