Tico and Friends

Nanami Simpson is a young girl who loses her mother early in life and moves in with her father, Scott Simpson, aboard the marine research ship "Peperonchino". Scott, a marine biologist, is searching for a rare creature called the "glowing whale." When he discovers the bones of one, he becomes disheartened and shifts his focus to protecting the species. Nanami forms a close bond with an orca she names Tico, swimming with it daily. Over time, she mysteriously develops the ability to breathe underwater, surprising her father. After a near-drowning incident, one of the glowing whales rescues her and brings her back to the ship, allowing Scott to finally witness the creature for himself.
