The Law of Ueki

Most people have no idea, but a strange competition takes place to determine who will rule the Heavenly World. In this tournament, 100 divine beings called "God Candidates" must select middle school students on Earth and grant them their powers. These chosen students then fight on behalf of their God Candidates. The winner receives the "Blank Talent," a power that lets them choose any ability they want, while their God Candidate becomes the new ruler of the Heavenly World. Kousuke Ueki, a middle school student, gets pulled into this tournament when his teacher, Kobayashi, gives him the ability to turn trash into trees. Though his classmate Ai Mori worries about him, Ueki decides to fight for his own sense of justice after seeing others abuse their powers for selfish reasons. But as he faces skilled opponents like Seiichirou Sano, Rinko Jerrard, Robert Haydn, and Hideyoshi Soya, he starts to realize just how difficult his path will be.
