The Mach is a racing car fitted with a newly developed engine called "X," designed and built by Kenichi Hibiki, a former racing driver and motor engineer. During a test drive before its completion, Kenichi was caught in a fatal accident and presumed dead. His father, Daisuke, who witnessed the crash, salvaged the wrecked car as a keepsake of his son. Years later, Daisuke rebuilt the damaged vehicle into the new Mach, which now competes in the Grand Prix. To prevent another tragedy, the car is equipped with a safety system called "Safety Seven," featuring seven protective mechanisms. It also carries the original "X" engine, which survived the crash intact. The new driver is Go, Kenichi's younger brother, who races to fulfill his brother's legacy. Through the Grand Prix, Go sharpens his skills and rises as one of the world's top racers.
