Shaman King

Tokyo is the setting for the Shaman Fight, a tournament that occurs once every five hundred years. Shamans-people with the ability to command spirits-battle each other for the title of Shaman King. The winner gains the power to communicate with the Great Spirit, a force so vast it can remake the world according to their will. One night, Manta Oyamada meets his classmate, the easygoing You Asakura, who invites him to go stargazing with some friends. To Manta’s shock, these "friends" are ghosts from a nearby graveyard. But You takes a liking to Manta when he realizes the boy has a rare sixth sense-the ability to see spirits. When Manta gets beaten up by a local gang, You steps in to help, aided by Amidamaru, the ghost of a samurai whose grave was desecrated by the gang’s leader. As Manta learns more about the spirit world, he discovers You’s true ambition: to win the Shaman Fight and become the Shaman King.
