Scarlet Nexus

In 2020, a nation is under constant threat from the "Others"-strange monsters that descend from the sky and prey on human brains. Around the same time, scientists discover psionics, a hormone in some people that grants extrasensory powers capable of fighting the Others. To counter this menace, the nation’s founder creates the Other Suppression Force (OSF),a group of young psionic users trained to protect humanity. Known as the Scarlet Guardians, these recruits endure harsh training to join the fight. During an induction ceremony for the newest Scarlet Guardians, Yuito Sumeragi stands among the elite. As the son of the nation’s founder, he carries a deep resolve-years ago, at age five, he was saved by an OSF member, and now he’s determined to repay that debt. But as he meets his new teammates, he’s troubled to find that one of them bears a striking resemblance to the woman who rescued him. This mystery, however, pales in comparison to the larger threat looming over the country-a hidden conspiracy that could upend everything.
