Rurouni Kenshin

Kenshin Himura has spent peaceful years at the Kamiya dojo, but his vow never to kill faces its greatest challenge yet. When his former commander is murdered, Kenshin must return to the path of violence to stop Makoto Shishio-a deadly assassin who claims to be the true successor to the infamous Battousai. Shishio has spent ten years plotting to overthrow the Meiji government and seize control of Kyoto, assembling a powerful army to fuel his ambitions. Now, he seeks to enlist Aoshi Shinomori, a ruthless former leader of the legendary Oniwaban Group, to strengthen his ranks. Passing through a village abandoned by the government and oppressed by Shishio's forces, Kenshin resolves to prevent Japan from plunging back into chaos. He forms an uneasy alliance with his old rival, Hajime Saitou, as they prepare for a decisive battle against Shishio's empire-one that will shape the future of the nation.
