Romeo's Blue Skies

Romeo is a gentle but brave boy living with his family in a quiet Swiss village. His life takes a dark turn when he catches the attention of Luini, a cruel man known as "The God of Death," who traffics children into forced labor as chimney sweeps in Milan. During a visit to the village, Luini sets fire to Romeo’s family cornfield, hoping to force the boy into his grasp. With their crops destroyed and his father injured trying to stop the flames, Romeo makes the painful decision to sell himself to Luini so his family can afford medical care. On the journey to Milan, Romeo befriends another boy, Alfredo Martini. Just before Alfredo is sold to a different master, the two promise to remain friends forever and reunite someday. As a chimney sweep, Romeo endures harsh treatment from his master’s family and a vicious gang called the Wolf Pack. But when he and Alfredo meet again, they form a brotherhood of chimney sweeps called "The Black Brothers," uniting to stand against the Wolf Pack and support one another through their struggles.
