Petals of Reincarnation

Touya Senji is a teenager weighed down by self-doubt, always overshadowed by his more accomplished older brother. Convinced that academic success might be his only path to proving himself, he throws himself into studying-yet even ranking in the top 100 nationwide fails to fill the void. His life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with his classmate, Haito Luo Buffett. She is a "Returner," someone who has unlocked the abilities of her past life by using the mysterious "Branch of Reincarnation"-an object that grants its wielder their former talents, but only if they slit their own throat with it. As Touya watches Haito battle a serial killer, he finds himself drawn into a world far beyond the struggles of his everyday life.
