McDull isn’t the sharpest kid around, but he always does his best to make his mother proud. Even though he might not achieve the grand future she hopes for, he never stops trying. The story weaves together snippets of McDull’s childhood, looking back as an adult. Blending playful Cantonese wordplay and plenty of Hong Kong flavor, it covers everything from a fumbled turkey dinner to fantasies of becoming the next Lee Lai-shan. Through it all, McDull navigates life’s ups and downs with his tough but loving mother by his side.
