Monochrome Factor

High schooler Akira Nikaido is an ordinary slacker just coasting through life-until the enigmatic Shirogane appears, claiming they share a destined bond. Akira dismisses it as nonsense. But when his friend Aya asks him to retrieve something she left at school one night, he reluctantly agrees. During their search, a shadowy creature attacks him. Shirogane explains that the balance between the human and shadow worlds is crumbling, and Akira must become a "shin"-a being of the shadow world-to help fix it. The anime includes shonen-ai elements not present in the original manga.
