Kemono Jihen

Kohachi Inugami, a detective with a focus on occult mysteries, arrives in a secluded Japanese village at the request of a local innkeeper. She has asked him to look into a series of disturbing incidents-livestock found dead and mutilated, their bodies rotting without explanation. As Inugami begins his investigation, he notices a strange boy working the fields. Shunned by the other villagers and nicknamed "Dorotabou" for his foul smell, the boy is startled when Inugami shows interest in him. Intrigued, Inugami recruits Dorotabou to assist with the case, despite the villagers' disapproval. What Dorotabou doesn’t realize is that this investigation will expose him to a hidden world-one where beast-like beings called Kemono live alongside humans-and give his once-meaningless life a new sense of purpose.
