Long ago, the unsealing of a mysterious artifact called the "Axia" released the Phantom Empire's malevolent forces into the world. To defend humanity, warriors known as the Precure have risen to fight them, their heroic battles broadcast worldwide and turning them into celebrities. Among them is Hime Shirayuki, the princess of the kingdom that once guarded the Axia. She transforms into "Cure Princess" to confront the Empire's monsters, but her shy nature often holds her back in battle. Discouraged by her struggles, she seeks a Precure partner and befriends Megumi Aino, a cheerful high schooler. When a Phantom Empire general attacks, Hime falters, but Megumi steps in-awakening her own power and becoming "Cure Lovely." Now united as the "Happiness Charge Precure," the two set out to protect the world and, along the way, search for the meaning of true love.
