Chibi Maruko-chan

"Chibi Maruko-chan" follows a cheeky but lovable 9-year-old girl nicknamed Maruko. She plays tricks on her grandfather, agonizes over how to spend her pocket money, and dreads sitting next to boys she finds unattractive. Her thoughts and feelings mirror those of any real child. As the new school term begins, Maruko and her classmates split into small groups. Maruko ends up paired with two mischievous boys, who treat her like their underling. The pressure of school life weighs on her. With the athletic festival nearing, all the students practice hard-Maruko included, though her laziness sometimes makes her late. Over time, she notices how the two boys compete fiercely in everything, yet their bond runs deep and unshaken.
