Sixty years ago, a mysterious insomnia epidemic swept through the population, leaving people unable to sleep for over a week. The sleep-deprived victims all descended into madness. A cure was developed, but the treatment had an unforeseen side effect-it turned them into vampires. Humanity waged war against these new creatures and won, though some vampires survived. Mi Liu, the protagonist, is the "Child of Hope," born from both human and vampire bloodlines, meant to bridge the divide between the two species. After leading a bank robbery, Mi Liu is captured and sent to a specialized prison run by the National Defense Agency, where vampires are kept under watch. During an escape attempt with Anji, they’re attacked by strange monsters. Mi Liu soon discovers that the prison stands on the ruins of "Blue Town," the ancient birthplace of vampires. Why are vampires confined to Blue Town? What are these creatures hunting them? Mi Liu and their allies must uncover the truth behind these mysteries-and fight to survive.
