Saya Otonashi appears to be a normal girl living a quiet life with her adoptive family in Okinawa City. Her only odd traits are her anemia and the fact that she can't remember anything from before the past year. But her forgotten past doesn’t stay buried for long. One night at school, she’s attacked by a creature that thirsts for human blood. Just as things seem hopeless, a stranger named Haji steps in and drives the monster away-but only for a moment. When Haji forces Saya to drink his blood, she falls into a trance and effortlessly kills the creature, using her own blood as a weapon. Now Saya discovers the existence of Red Shield, a group dedicated to hunting these nightmarish beasts. With Haji at her side, she joins their fight against the monsters while slowly uncovering the truth about her lost memories.
