Blade of the Immortal

Manji is a notorious swordsman in feudal Japan, called the "Hundred Man Killer" for slaughtering a hundred innocent people. But his grim reputation pales next to the truth: he is immortal, thanks to an eight-hundred-year-old nun named Yaobikuni, who infused his body with bloodworms that heal nearly any wound. To repent for his sins, Manji vows to kill a thousand evil men. Yaobikuni accepts his pledge, promising to lift his immortality if he succeeds. Soon after, he crosses paths with Rin Asano, a sixteen-year-old girl who begs for his help in avenging her murdered parents. At first, Manji refuses her plea, but seeing her helplessness, he relents. He agrees to protect Rin for four years, forging an uneasy alliance. Together, they set out on a violent journey of vengeance and redemption, each driven by their own desperate purpose.
